Why this page exists

Carpet Care Guide is an independent editorial site about carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning in Dubai. Nothing is sold here. We do earn commission when readers book with some of the cleaners we list, and that relationship is disclosed openly. This page explains what happens to data while you are reading.

Categories of data

Automatic technical data: IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, time on page, and where you arrived from. Collected by the server and by analytics, used to keep the site working and to see which sections readers find useful.

Voluntary data: an email address and whatever you write in a message to us. Readers sometimes send photographs of a rug that was damaged by a cleaner. We hold those in confidence, we do not publish them without permission, and we do not forward them to the company concerned unless you ask us to.

Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary cookies allow pages to load and display correctly. Analytics cookies measure traffic anonymously. Affiliate cookies record that a click originated here, so commission is credited correctly if a booking follows. None of them are used for cross-site advertising and none are required to read the site.

All non-essential cookies can be refused through browser settings. Doing so has no effect on what you can read.

Sharing

Data reaches four kinds of third party: the hosting provider that runs the server, Google Fonts for typefaces, the analytics service, and affiliate networks for referral attribution. That is the complete list. We do not sell data, we do not trade it, and we do not build marketing profiles from it.

Outbound links lead to cleaning companies whose privacy practices are entirely their own. Anything you give them, including your address for a collection booking, is governed by their policy.

Editorial independence and data

We pay for the cleaning jobs behind our reviews ourselves. Providers do not receive reader data from us, they do not see scores before publication, and they cannot buy a position in the ranking. The only thing an affiliate partner learns is that an anonymous click arrived from this domain.

Retention

Server logs are deleted within ninety days. Aggregate analytics are held for up to twenty-four months. Correspondence is kept up to two years, or less if you ask. Photographs sent by readers are deleted once the matter they relate to is closed.

Rights available to you

Depending on where you live you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. All of them are exercised by writing to the contact address on this site. We respond within thirty days, at no cost, and we do not ask for identity documents to process a routine request.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging cleaning for their own home or business. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of sixteen.

Security and amendments

The connection is encrypted, access to the publishing system is restricted, and software is kept up to date. No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. When this notice is amended the date at the top is updated, and anything material is spelled out here rather than buried.
